First Look at the 2015 Ford Focus

The new 2015 Ford Focus is being revealed at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 24, 2014, sporting a new interior and exterior design and new advanced technologies. But we’re giving you a sneak peek right now!

The first thing to strike your eye will be the changes to the front and back of the car: a restyled hood, grille and headlamps, along with new taillamps. The sedan also gets a restyled trunk.

Inside lies a clean, modern look, with new seat trims for S, SE and Titanium, plus chrome detailing and a new steering wheel design, cupholders and easy-to-access glove box.

The advanced technologies we mentioned? The new Focus will be available with BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert. BLIS uses radar in the rear quarter panels to detect a vehicle entering your blind spot and alerts you with an indicator light in the sideview mirror. Cross-traffic alert also uses radar to watch for traffic behind you when you’re slowly backing out of a parking spot or your driveway. If it detects a vehicle approaching from up to 15 yards away, it sends an audible warning, a visual display in the sideview mirror and a signal in the message center. The rear view camera, which helps aid the driver in seeing what’s behind their vehicle by displaying an image on a screen as they’re slowly backing up, will be standard on Titanium models. SYNC® will be standard on all 2015 Focus models so drivers can keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road by interacting with vehicle systems through simple voice commands or the available touch screen. That’s in addition to all of the great technology already available in the Ford Focus.

Two efficient engines will be offered in the U.S., including the standard 2.0L Ti-VCT I-4. It’s flex-fuel capable, so you can use either unleaded, E85 or any combination of the two. And there’s the newly available 1.0L EcoBoost® I-3 – an engine that’s small, but packs enough punch to satisfy most driving situations powerfully and efficiently.

“The stylish new Focus will deliver a complete package of appealing design … as well as the important fun-to-drive element our customers have come to expect,” said Barb Samardzich, chief operating officer, Ford of Europe.

The 2015 Ford Focus will go on sale in North America in late 2014.
